I got to do an incredible shoot at a location that is already awesome: Murray’s Mill.  We actually got to go inside the mill for a few shots, and it was awesome.  I couldn’t believe how lucky and blessed I was to be able to do that! I also got to shoot with Chad Roffey; always a fun time! You’ll see his shots mixed in with mine.

Kara and Jason were truly meant for each other, and I can tell God had their love constructed a long time before they knew it!  They are both so easy-going and sweet, and their personalities just “fit.” Kara has a smile that could go on for miles, and Jason’s sense of humor is great!  They were both a blessing for us because they were so natural in front of the camera and didn’t mind showing us how they really feel about each other.  They were up for some fun shots, romantic shots, goofy shots, etc.  You name it, they were up for it!  We had such a fun time with them and we can’t wait to photograph Kara’s upcoming bridal portraits (no peeking Jason!) and their wedding in September.  Thanks for a great time you guys!

I have NEVER seen a chameleon DJ before in my life.  This takes the cake on things that you never expected to see at weddings.  Following me yet?  I saw a male DJ magically turn into Tina Turner in less than five minutes!  Didn’t know that could happen…

It was so hilarious…sweet little ole Tanya (she really is the sweetest person I’ve ever met…I always look forward to her phone calls!) set up her unknowing and very innocent husband David for the surprise of his life at the wedding.  None of us knew what was going on until the DJ stepped out, fully decked out in Tina Turner gear and a goatee, and started dancing around David.  It was absolutely hilarious and I’ve never seen a groom get so red in my life.

Aside from all of the excitement at the reception, I was very blessed to be able to capture some of my best images yet at Tanya and David’s wedding.  I was so excited to see the results, but I cannot take full credit.  They were so natural and SO in love…it’s so sweet to see the two of them together.  Enjoy the photos below of the crazy DJ stunt and some beautiful photos of Tanya and her man…more to follow soon!  Thanks for inviting me to be a part of such an AWESOME wedding guys!

Amanda and Skip :: Wedding

June 11, 2009 | Category: Wedding | Leave a Comment

Amanda has been a dear friend of mine since college, so this wedding was very special to me.  She has so much going for her in life, from her amazing ability to sing, to her absolutely adorable son Ben (watch for his dancing below!), to her wonderful husband Skip.  You could say that life is good for her, eh?  :)  I was amazed at Amanda’s confidence when we did her bridal portraits…she looked like she stepped off the pages of Vogue magazine!  I was so proud.  I had a great time getting to know Skip on the wedding day too!  I’ve never been to a wedding where the groom and groomsmen didn’t pick on me, and this was no exception.  I’m extremely gullible, and when the guys found out, they wouldn’t stop picking on me!  It was so much fun to be around such a fun group of guys.

The wedding took place in Amanda’s hometown of Forest City, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  Tabernacle Freewill Baptist is a cute little country church, and it created a beautifully intimate setting for a gorgeous wedding.  Thank you, Amanda and Skip, for the privilege of sharing your day.  Best wishes to both of you!
