I tell them several things: being able to serve God creatively, knowing that my art and expression is on the wall of an awesome family’s home, going to awesome places and constantly getting to explore, etc.  A few weeks ago, I found another awesome perk: being able to see old high school friends again without going to a reunion.  In fact, I’ve missed both of mine (five and ten year…I’m still young!) because I was always at a photography job, so this was an awesome treat!

Ashley called me and wanted to surprise her lovely husband with some top-secret photos of her.  She adores him, and he adores and does everything her, so she decided to do something special.  She wanted something that spoke volumes about her…something a little “country,” but something also fun, sassy, and flirty.  We decided to shoot at Murray’s Mill, and I was ecstatic with how awesome she did at the session.

Ashley has always been a little shy, but she rocked the camera!  All I had to do was mention her husband’s name, and her face lit up.  Nah…I couldn’t tell she’s in love AT ALL.  Yeah right.  :)

I haven’t seen her since college, so I had such an awesome time.  We went through high school and college together, so she’s extra special to me.  Ashley, thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting me photograph you, and for the pleasure of your company after many years of missing a great friend!  Check out some of my favorite photos from her session here:

However, there is hope for me. I have a new Newton BFF, Mrs. Jackie Weaver. The coolest thing about Jackie is that she used to play professional basketball in SPAIN. She lived in the Canary Islands for seven months playing b-ball…boy, does that not sound like living a dream? She’s even going to teach me how to dunk…maybe. I’m only 5’6″.

It’s amazing how much we have in common, and it would be quite a fun thing to witness one of our conversations. I had a great time with Jackie, her husband Wes, and her two awesome (and very beautiful) children CJ and Wesley. I had the distinct privilege of photographing not only her headshot, but Wes’, and their first official family portrait! It was a fun day.

I’ve got more photos coming of the whole family, but I couldn’t resist posting a quick shout-out to my newest BFF! I had a great time at lunch today, and here’s to many more fun lunch conversations! Wes and Lee don’t know what they are in for. Check out how great Jackie looks in her new headshot…you’ll see it again soon on Business 321 near Pizza Hut on a billboard. Yes, a BILLBOARD! STP is famous!!! Okay, maybe not. But it is fun to say.
