Young Blue Eyes.

You know how they called Frank Sinatra “Ole Blue Eyes?” Its the first thing you noticed about him because he had a pair of gorgeous blue eyes that could stop traffic in the middle of NYC. I’m convinced that Mikayla is related to him in some way. Seeing as though she’s only a teenager, I’ve got to call her “Young Blue Eyes.” She has a gorgeous set of blue eyes and its the first thing you notice. She’s a sweetheart and a half, and best friends to another awesome young lady (who happens to be our model too!)–Erin. Check out her photos here.

Another thing I love about her? Mikayla is one of those rare people who can nail a “model face.” Remember taking your senior pictures and they asked for a serious face? I always looked like a mad dorkus. Not Mikayla! Check out this photo!

She is simply stunning. She’s got a sweet, innocent, quiet air about her that I love. I have a feeling as I get to know her more over this year, I’m going to find out more spunk and spontaneity. Why? We’re going snowboarding for one of her sessions for the Senior Yearbook! How cool is that?!?! I’m having a blast with this young lady, and I can’t wait to spend more time with her. Erin :: senior model 2012

What a lovely young lady! She is such a ray of sunshine, and my crew and I were smiling the entire shoot with her. It was so much fun!

Erin hails from Freedom High School in Morganton, NC and is one of my 2012 Burke County senior models. I’m VERY happy to have her in my portfolio because she makes me look so good! She’s a country girl who isn’t afraid to walk barefoot on a gravel road or go hunting with the boys. Don’t get me wrong though…Erin’s quite a lovely young lady. After her first outfit change, she came back in an awesome skirt I’d love to have in my closet! She’s not afraid to dress up either. From her love of the outdoors to her desire to be fashion-forward, she’s quite a fun and beautiful young lady.

Parke :: senior model 2012

We JUST got back from a very awesome session with the lovely Parke Shook from Newton-Conover Health Science School in…you guessed it–Newton! :) Today, I learned that Parke is NOT on the tennis team, but the track team. She also loves fashion and has an urban flair to her personal style. Best of all? She wants her wrestling name to be “flying squirrel.” Hahahaha…we had quite a few fun conversations…

And then the tire went flat. Luckily, we all had a great time and my good buddy Ben Earp came to our rescue. We had an AWESOME day today and I could resist posting a few teasers from her session. Enjoy!

Jolie :: class of 2012

Meet Jolie, a lovely senior from Bandys High School. She’s into fashion–a veritable uptown girl with vintage-style flair. She’s not shy though…she’s very outgoing and very ambitious about anything she tackles. She’s involved in anything from chorus to cheerleading at school, and she’s well-known throughout the community. Check out some of my favorite photos from Jolie’s senior session. Enjoy!

Meet Mikayla, another lovely senior model for the class of 2012! Man, I’ve been so blessed to meet such sweet and outstanding young’uns here lately! Mikayla is a senior at Freedom High School in Burke County and one of her favorite pasttimes is waterskiiing. She’s also got some killer blue eyes and a sweet, bubbly personality that anyone would love to be around. I had a blast with her at her first senior session yesterday…check out two of my favorite photos and stay tuned to the blog for more in the future!

Meet Christine, one of our newest senior models from the class of 2012! She’s a student at Newton-Conover Health Science School, is active in cheerleading, and is still iffy about roller coasters after experiencing her first recently. I don’t do goodbyes.

Never in my life would I have dreamed I’d have as much fun as I did with two talented and funny young ladies. I had to say goodbye to Ms. Kelsey a few weeks ago, but yesterday I had to do it again on Michelle’s last day with me. Michelle and Kelsey’s official last week of high school was this week, and that means that their tenure here at STP is also officially over. Needless to say, I’m sad.

Kelsey is a photographic prodigy…she’s born to do photography. At her age, she’s got the raw, untapped talent that’s just waiting to burst out. She’s my diamond in the rough, for lack of a better cliche. I learned two things about her this year I didn’t already know: a) she’s hilarious, and b) she never told me she’s AWESOME in front of the camera (she’s an awesome model!). I fussed at her…she waited a whole semester to let me know this.

And Ms. Michelle…just like Kelsey, she’s fun, energetic, and has an infectious personality. Michelle is ALSO awesome in front of the camera, and I suckered the poor girl into a TON of photo shoots. She didn’t mind, though. From dance to academics, business to art, she’s one of the most talented young ladies I’ve ever met. And the best part? She chose the RIGHT school. Michelle is going to be Catamount, just like me and Lee!!!

Yesterday, we did one last photo shoot together…

It was hard…I’m tearing up right now writing this blog post. She put on her cap and gown and I took that last photo…I realized one thing:

I am PROUD.

I am proud of my two “girls.” They not only became stronger photographers, but I gained two new friends out of it…two friends I’ll sorely miss. They busted their tails for me this year, and they learned a ton of things. Words could never begin to describe how proud I am. I know I sound like a big sap, but making life personal is what I do. It’s who I am…I couldn’t help but become great friends with both of them. Ladies, thank you so much. You both did a great job and made me one VERY proud mentor. I don’t do goodbyes…I do “see ya next times.” You’d better come back and see me soon!
