Meet Mikayla, another lovely senior model for the class of 2012!  Man, I’ve been so blessed to meet such sweet and outstanding young’uns here lately!  Mikayla is a senior at Freedom High School in Burke County and one of her favorite pasttimes is waterskiiing.  She’s also got some killer blue eyes and a sweet, bubbly personality that anyone would love to be around.  I had a blast with her at her first senior session yesterday…check out two of my favorite photos and stay tuned to the blog for more in the future!

LIGHT.

Just as requested, we’re going full steam ahead with the first official STP photo contest with…YOUR photos (not ours!). Details?

Subject: Light (creative ways to use light)
Time frame: This weekend (8/26-8/28 at midnight)
Fine print: You cannot do a portrait. The usage of light must unique and different, and not something you see everyday. If you are professional, you can’t enter. If you are related to me, you can enter, but you can’t win.

Email your photos to me at cathy@seizethephoto.com. I will put all of the photos online on my Facebook page for voting. You must be a fan of STP on Facebook in order to vote, and voting will occur 8/29-9/2. There will be TWO winners, a fan favorite (based on votes) and my favorite (based on photographic skill). Both winners will receive a free session from STP and a mystery gift (that of course is REALLY awesome!). We’ll reveal that later!

Christine :: senior model 2012

Meet Christine, one of our newest senior models from the class of 2012! She’s a student at Newton-Conover Health Science School, is active in cheerleading, and is still iffy about roller coasters after experiencing her first recently. :) Check out a few of my favorite shots from our excursion to McGalliard Falls in Valdese…more to come soon!

Just can’t get enough!

I hate when I get rained out…

But then again, I don’t…not when Valerie and Andrew walk through my door!  Even though the first session got rained out, that meant that I got another make-up session…yay!

The first date got rained out, so we got to play around in the studio just a bit.  When our second session rolled around, we ventured out to a local park and got a little adventurous.  Remember the infamous waterfall session from last year?  Yeah, well, I got to do it again.  :)  Valerie and Andrew told me that a) they were adventurous and up for anything, and b) I could be as creative as I wanted.  What a recipe for an awesome time and an awesome session! Every single photo I’ve taken of them has oozed with emotion and turned out to be one of my strongest (and favorite!) engagement sessions to date.

Needless to say, I’m really excited about their wedding in October.  Here’s a small sampling of their photos from both sessions…enjoy, just as I have!
